Rabbi Chaim of Chernovitz (1760-1817), author of Be'er Mayim Chaim, was a Chassidic master and student of the Baal Shem Tov's disciples. He made aliyah to the Holy Land and is buried in Tzfat. His work Be'er Mayim Chaim is an important commentary on the Torah from a Chassidic perspective, known for its warmth and depth.
