Rabbi Moshe Alsheikh (1508-1593) was one of the greatest Torah commentators and preachers of 16th century Tzfat. Known as the Alsheikh HaKadosh, his Torah commentary Torat Moshe remains a beloved and widely studied work. He was a student of Rabbi Yosef Karo and was ordained by him. His sermons attracted huge crowds and his writings combine deep halachic knowledge with Kabbalistic insight and practical ethical guidance.
