This policy explains what information cityoftzfat.com (“we”, “us”) – an independent website, not affiliated with the Tzfat (Safed) Municipality – collects when you use cityoftzfat.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, write to info@cityoftzfat.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Account details – your name, email address and password when you register. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never see your Google password.
- Listings – if you add or claim a business or place, the details you enter, such as its name, address, phone number, website, opening hours, photos, logo and payment link.
- Reviews, suggestions and messages – reviews you post, corrections you suggest to our pages, and anything you send us by email or through a form.
- Dedications and sponsorships – the wording, names, business details and logo you submit.
Payments. Payments for listing upgrades, dedications and sponsorships are processed by PayPal. We receive confirmation of the payment and basic billing details (such as your name, email and country), but we do not see or store your card or bank details. When a business on the Site accepts payment directly through its own PayPal account, that payment goes to the business, not to us, and is governed by the business’s and PayPal’s terms.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our server records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your language and preferences, protect forms from spam, and understand how the Site is used.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
What is public
Listing details, reviews (with the name you choose to display), published dedications and sponsorships are shown publicly on the Site. Please don’t include information in them that you don’t want to be public.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Hosting – GoDaddy, which hosts the Site.
- Payments – PayPal.
- Email delivery – Brevo, which sends our emails.
- Google – for Sign in with Google, reCAPTCHA spam protection (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms), maps, and site statistics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or in connection with a transfer of the Site.
Where information is stored
The Site is operated from the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Site you understand that your information may be transferred outside your country, including from Israel and the European Union, with appropriate safeguards where the law requires them.
How long we keep information
We keep account and listing information for as long as your account or listing is active. Payment records are kept for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see below); some information may be kept where the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update most of your information from your account. Depending on where you live – including under the EU and UK GDPR, Israel’s Privacy Protection Law and US state laws such as California’s – you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain uses. To make a request, email info@cityoftzfat.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the Site, such as logging in, from working.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
