Welcome to City of Tzfat. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of cityoftzfat.com and its related pages and services (the “Site”), operated by cityoftzfat.com (“we”, “us”). cityoftzfat.com is an independent website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Tzfat (Safed) Municipality or any government body. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About the Site
The Site is a free guide and directory to Tzfat (Safed) and the surrounding area: holy sites, the sages of Tzfat, synagogues, places to eat and stay, tours, activities and Torah learning. The information is provided for general guidance. Opening hours, prices, kashrut, access and other details can change, and some historical and traditional information (such as the identification of graves) is based on tradition rather than certain historical record. Please confirm important details directly with the place before relying on them.
2. Accounts
Some features, such as reviews, adding or claiming a listing and saving favorites, require a free account. You may register with an email address or sign in with Google. You must give accurate information, keep your login secure and be responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.
3. Your content
“Your content” means anything you submit to the Site, including listings, photos, reviews, suggested corrections and messages. You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, translate, adapt and distribute it on the Site and in promoting the Site. You confirm that you have the right to submit it, that it is accurate, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights.
You agree not to post content that is false or misleading; defamatory, abusive, hateful or harassing; immodest or obscene; disrespectful to holy sites, the sages or the community; unlawful; spam or advertising outside of your own listing; or that contains other people’s personal information without permission.
Reviews must reflect your own genuine experience. Business owners may not review their own business or a competitor, or offer anything in exchange for reviews.
We may review, edit for formatting, decline or remove any content at our discretion, and we are not obliged to publish any submission.
4. Listings and claimed businesses
Anyone may suggest a place. Owners or authorised representatives may claim a listing to manage it. By claiming a listing you confirm that you are authorised to act for that business, and you are responsible for keeping its information accurate and up to date. We may verify claims and may reverse a claim made without authority.
Listing a place is currently free. If we introduce paid features in future, they will be offered under separate terms that you can review before you buy.
Some businesses may accept payments or bookings through their own payment accounts linked from their listing. Those transactions are solely between you and the business. We are not a party to them, do not receive the money and are not responsible for the goods or services provided.
5. Our content and intellectual property
The Site’s design, text and compilations are protected by copyright and other laws. Photographs and other images are credited to their creators and used with their permission or under their licences. You may view the Site and share links to it for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape or republish substantial parts of the Site without our written permission.
6. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email info@cityoftzfat.com with: a description of the work; the address of the page where it appears; your contact details; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner, with your physical or electronic signature. We will remove infringing content and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
7. Links to other websites
The Site links to other websites, such as Sefaria, the National Library of Israel and businesses’ own sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, using automated tools to collect data, impersonating others, or using the Site for any unlawful purpose.
9. Disclaimers
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the Site or its content, including accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Visits to holy sites, nature areas and activities are at your own risk; please follow local guidance and safety instructions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site, any content on it, or any dealings with businesses listed on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Site, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Changes and termination
We may change or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will notify registered users of significant changes. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
